VendorWorks G5 has released a "State of the Industry Report" for the frst half of 2018. Available on the company's website, the 24-page document examines self-storage trends and market drivers. It also includes "actionable insights" on how facility operators can optimize marketing efforts during the second half of the year. storEDGE has merged with SpareFoot, an online marketplace for storage consumers. The two companies will operate alongside cloud-based software provider SiteLink, which SpareFoot acquired in March, as a combined platform. The venture is backed by private equity frm Cove Hill Partners. Union Realtime LLC has formed a strategic partnership with List Self Storage (LLS), which operates a website for real estate professionals to list and identify facilities for sale. The partnership will allow Union Realtime's Radius customers to identify facilities for sale, run analyses and view details on the LSS website. StorTrack has agreed to integrate its real-time rate data with the Self-Storage Rent Optimizer (SSRO), a dynamic-pricing solution offered by revenue-management frm Prorize LLC. The partnership will add more than 1 million daily competitor price points for SSRO users. Janus International Group LLC has been named to "Inc." Magazine's "Inc. 5000" list for the ffth time in the last 10 years. The company ranked No. 2,749 on the 2018 list, 358 spots lower than last year. The company hired 140 full-time and 413 part-time employees in 2017. Kingdom Storage Holdings partnered with Youth With a Mission (YWAM) to build two charity homes in Ensenada, Mexico. These are the fourth and ffth houses the company has built and donated to Mexican families as part of YWAM's "Homes for Hope" program. Kingdom covered the cost of the buildings and furnishes as well as travel expenses for volunteers. People SmartStop Asset Management LLC has promoted James Barry to senior vice president of fnance. He'll also serve in the same capacity for Strategic Storage Trust II Inc. Barry will be responsible for the management of budgets, forecasts and various financial analyses. The Jenkins Organization Inc. has promoted Nedra Price from area manager to district manager. Price joined the company six years ago as an assistant manager and covered multiple locations. She's been an area manager for three years and has held positions on the company audit and training teams. StorageMart has made three leadership appointments to help manage the company's growth strategy during the next two years. The company promoted Alain Gingras and Shawn Twenter to senior director of operations and information-technology manager, respectively. It also hired Clint Hall to serve as director of projects and metrics. Out of the Ordinary The pilot of a small aircraft clipped a building at Spencer Mini Storage in La Porte, Texas, before crashing into a nearby wooded area. The 39-year-old pilot had just taken off from nearby La Porte Municipal Airport when he experienced engine trouble and decided to land the Cessna T-36. The pilot sustained minor injuries and was the only person on the plane. It isn't clear if the self-storage facility incurred any damage. A shirtless man who hurled a stone block through the window of DonRic Self Storage in Cedar Grove, N.J., was arrested after the act was caught on surveillance video. After breaking the glass door, Nathaniel Suarez entered the building and left with stolen property, according to police. He's been charged with burglary, theft and criminal mischief. A belligerent woman was arrested at Westside Mini Storage in Macon County, Tenn. Wendy D. Mitchell was screaming, unable to communicate with offcers and appeared to be under the infuence of drugs, authorities said. Police later found methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in her vehicle.
