In the thread "Rules and Regulations at Your Facility" in the "Day-to-Day Management" forum, members are sharing details about the various signs they post around their properties. Senior member KrisinNC and others have even posted photos. Have an interesting story or photo to share? Post it the "Tales From the Trenches" or "Day-to-Day Management" forum. Attracting Commercial Customers Here's advice from senior member Steve Hajewski, posted in the thread "Getting More Commercial Customers" in the "Marketing" forum. Business customers are often looking for some extra services, but which ones may depend on the type of business: • Contractors: Larger units, interior lighting, electrical outlets, large door to accommodate equipment, possibly a walk-through door for quick access and 24-hour access • Web-based reseller: Clean facility, pest control, climate control and maybe package acceptance • Outside sales rep: Climate control, meeting room Most would also like a place with good lighting near main highways, free Wi-Fi and a restroom. Gated access and good cameras are also typically desired. The ability to run payment via credit card and send out receipts automatically is an expectation. Fill in the Blank To create an interesting Facebook post, DMac020 asked fellow members to complete the following sentence: "Confucius said, 'Everything has beauty but not everyone sees it.' Confucius was right. Like that old ____, you may see its beauty, but not everyone else does. Yeah, you should probably store it instead." In the thread "Need a Word" in the "Marketing" forum, people have offered up the following additions. What would you suggest? • Barcalounger • Painting of dogs playing cards • Bean-bag chair • Plaid golf pants • Leisure suit • VHS tapes • Taxidermy collection NOT YET A MEMBER OF SELF-STORAGE TALK?
